Pasasalamat sa mga Manghahabing Bayani

First of all, I'd like to greet you all an exciting start of 2013! I know it's way too late but I'm just happy that I'm starting to get back into some blogging a very, very long hiatus. And what an amazing way to start the year; we've been part of a special event held last January 5 at the Avenue Convention Center. It was Mr. Kengkoy's Re-launching of their backpacks as well as their event entitled: "Pasasalamat sa mga Manghahabing Bayani" The night gave spotlight to the nine new brand ambassadors of Mr. Kengkoy, recognizing them in their respective categories namely: ARTS and CULTURE, LEADERSHIP and YOUTH EMPOWERMENT. Sharing the limelight with them that night were the hard-working Nanays and one Tatay for Mr. Kengkoy. It was one, wonderful night to remember.

So, how did Elpee and I end up contributing to the team? Allow me to share to you the astounding journey we took for Mr. Kengkoy.

Days were left before the Christmas of 2012 came when we received an invitation from a dear friend, kuya Raffy. He was asking if I and Elpee could contribute to their much-anticipated event through our skills in making video presentations. We gladly accepted the offer. We were the ones who made the videos presenting the nine ambassadors.

Here's Elpee working on one of the vids hours before the event.

"It was a smooth sail, two weeks before the event. We got all the materials we needed but I have to admit that actually starting to work was the hardest part for both of us."

For my part, it was a very fresh experience. To become a part of something that makes an impact towards other people, other communities. It was a very memorable learning experience for me. On a personal note, I appreciate how this task made my relationship with Elpee even stronger. I got to experience handling stress with him in a somehow professional manner. He even told me halfway the entire thing that he was doing this because he knew it would make me happy and I appreciated that so much from him. Also, being called "lovers" by the Kengkoy Team every now an then really made my heart smile. :)

JANUARY 5. THE DAY OF THE EVENT

Few hours before the event starts, the team was already at Magsaysay including me and Elpee, busy doing their respective tasks. We were still rushing to finish rendering the videos in time, and we even had to re-shoot two of the ambassadors because of certain complications for the vid presentation. Nonetheless, we have made it and we were proud. All that was left was to let the program begin.

I was so happy to get the perks of being part of the team and see the preparations done at the venue. And now, for some photos! :D

Still busy. >.<

Being one of the Ambassador for the event, I got to see my idol David Guison. *u*

Gotcha! Hahaha :">

This is the Kanaga. The ones being used by the Nanays and Tatay.

And here's the Ateneo Dance Club breaking the ice and setting the "Kengkoy" mood right after the Dinner Socials. Hands down to their very cool performance!

The rest of the evening's program followed afterwards. The Nanay's and Tatay were introduced and the nine Ambassadors received their awards. The ambassadors also presented their very own signature backpacks.

And here's the T-shirt from High Breed. Cool!

The entertainers during the event were also so great! Here's some of their photos:

The 4K Barrel were so entertaining with their songs and antics. The crowd loved it!

Gangbadoy is such a witty host. I absolutely love her! :)

After the program, picture-taking was

everywhere. Of course, we wouldn't want to

miss the chance of meeting the ambassadors

who are well-known for what they do. The best

part about this event was the chance to catch

up with old acquaintances and most of all,

meet new people from different walks of life. I

guess it would be best if I don't name some

of them, just to be safe ;)

I asked for Mr. David to have him write something on my planner. *u*

The hard-working team of Mr. Kengkoy

To everyone who became a part of this successful event, congrats guys! And to the Mr. Kengkoy team, I and Elpee are very thankful for the wonderful opportunity and experience you have given us. Our heartfelt gratitude to the team. I and Elpee will just be on stand-by, waiting for what other surprises you may have in store for the two of us. *wink*

I would also like to thank Naga City Deck for being an inspiration of this post. Hope to see you more often and more power!
